Assignment number three was to write a blog post about our stay at Patchellhytta, marketing the destination to a chosen target group.
I chose to blog as if I was writing to my fellow english students, encouraging them to partake in a much more adventurous holiday which is rich with history and character, as opposed to something you buy in a package.

The media I have used for my blog includes photos of the journey to, at and from Patchellhytta, and a short video which explains some of the history of the mountaineering culture of Sunmøre. For this video I used a voice recording of my teacher, recorded while he was explaining the same thing to us. I wanted to re-record a scripted version of this, but unfortunately time and schedules did not allow that to happen. It was very important that I used his voice because firstly, I needed someone who was really knowledgeable about the subject, and secondly, I knew that a Norwegian accent would appeal very very strongly to my English audience and add a lot of atmosphere to the feel of the video.
If I were to do this post again, I would re-record the audio so that it is much clearer and possibly a bit more concise, and secondly I would re-structure the blog a little bit so that all of the practical information about the cabin could be found at the end, in a sort of info box.
Other than that, I think it is a very good first outcome, and if I use this assignment for my exam piece, I look forward to tweaking it into shape.
