This assignment involved telling each of our individual stories in relation to nature and the outdoors. We thought about how we ended up here in Volda, the stories behind that journey and the relevance of the outdoors to those stories. The filming for this project was completed on a trip to the near by StandalHytta cabins.
Our film group for this project
In order to give us time to reflect on our stories, and also take some footage, we spent one day hiking through a beautiful valley along side a river. This enabled us to get a lot of the filler footage for our video. This was very important because we wanted our stories to focus just as much, if not more, on the nature than us.
Hiking for Inspiration
My story was very much inspired by the fact that I have always connected well with nature in relation to a God who created it. I personally wanted to try and convey that relationship in a video. It was great to have so much time to think about and reflect on this.
My team hard at work
I think we worked very well as a crew, and that our stories are all in some way relevant to each other. They convey the same mood, and we hope connect well and show the connection that we have with each other, now that we've made it to this destination in our lives.
Our finished product
I think that if I could have done this again, I would have tried to organise our team better so that we all sat down together and edited the video together, instead of having to do it separately due to none of us being free at the same times. That might have allowed for a better continuity throughout the video and perhaps improved the quality over all. However, I believe we have achieved the goal of telling our individual stories in relation to each other and the outdoors.
According to some feedback we got from a screening of the video, we all re-edited our individual parts and assembled them together again. Below is the new version of my part, with some fixes suggested by our teachers such as re-organising some of the footage and getting rid of the layer/fading.
