Our first OUT101 (Outdoor Media Production) assignment was to create a video for Instagram about Volda, Norway, where we are based. This project automatically comes with certain restrictions, such as the 15 second time limit, but also allows for some things to be made a little easier like access to filters and not being too worried about camera shake, considering Instagram is a platform made originally for hand held phone photography.
Notes and mind mapping to plan the ideas and shots for my video.
The concept for my video is a quick look at my every day in Volda. As this video is for tourists/ people outside of Norway I wanted to take advantages of the natural beauty as well as the culture of craftsmanship I am experiencing as someone who is studying textiles.
Shots for the project were taken in and near Volda.

The main improvement I would make if editing again would be the sound in this video. It is my own recording, but I would have liked to add more layers to it. I did attempt to do this, but I will need a lesson in sound recording first before I try something like that again! This is an improvement I might make later on, as I think it would really help to carry the video through to have the sound building as the 15 seconds progress.
I think that the video flows nicely, but I'm not sure that the viewer will easily make all the intended connections. For example, between the sheep and wool felting.
However, I hope that the video portrays an accurate look at my every day in Volda which is also attractive to those who have never been here.
